Sportscapper CFB Play for Thursday - Okl. St.-Fla Atl. UNDER 47.5

For Thursday, we go with the Under when Oklahoma State travels to take on Florida Atlantic. Oklahoma State scored 15 points in their season opener at home against Montana State. That's a division 1 AA school and the Cowboys managed just 15 points on their own home field. I can't expect much from this team offensively all year.
Now, Florida Atlantic will never be mistaken for a perennial powerhouse but this team did hold Kansas to just 30 points on the road. That might not impress some of you but Kansas, who is supposed to have a very good offense this year, struggled for those points.

Florida Atlantic has a very good defense that no one knows about. But you will see just how good they are when they line up tonight. Both offenses are definitely nothing to write home about but both teams play good defense and with this total being set rather high, I like the under in this one.

Sportscapper MLB Play for Thursday ? Washington Nationals

Josh Beckett has looked awful in his last couple starts, and looks like the season is starting to wear on him. He will set personal records for innings (156 2/3 LY) and starts (26) and his pitching has never looked sloppier. Beckett has not won since he did so against the lowly Padres on Aug. 18... hardly a confidence booster.

John Patterson, has posted a 2.37 ERA against the Marlins in his two starts, but has failed to win or get a decision. This times the charm, as the Nats will take advantage of what appears to be a vulnerable Beckett. Last year he was almost unhittable until similar issues with blisters and overall wear and tear had the Marlins scared to resign him long term... turns out their maybe is more than meets the eye. Since late August Beckett has not been the same, and the Marlins lack of inspiring play coupled with Patterson's dominance at home, 6-0 with a 1.76 ERA in 15 starts, spells trouble in the N.L. Wildcard race for the fish. Nationals roll here as Beckett and the Marlins falter.
