Low Profile Games Give you Sharper Bets

By Tom Wilkinson

Low profile football games from obscure mid major conferences in college football or those college football games played on strange nights of the week go straight under the radar screen of the average sports bettor that makes his football picks on such well known “public” sports betting teams such as Michigan, USC, Miami of Florida, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma to name a few. Your sharper sports bettors and professionals, however, are keenly aware of low profile games of all sports and often probe the odds for advantages or weaknesses to take advantage of at online sportsbooks or casino sportsbooks that all put these games on their sports betting odds boards.

Unsophisticated sports bettors, or the general sports betting public, simply don’t have the interest in low profile sports betting possibilities and limit themselves to televised high profile games or high profile teams such as the ones mentioned above. Sharp professional sports bettors and expert online sports betting fanatics, however, will isolate the most obscure games and teams for sports betting profit, easily increasing the size of their bankrolls.

College basketball is another sport that offers the professional online sports bettor a buffet of opportunities and weak sports betting odds and a sports betting line that is challenging for the sports betting odds makers to make.

Big time sports betting actions that feature a large move on the odds on such events as midweek regular season pro basketball matchups, pro hockey, college basketball and non BCS college football teams are likely to be coming from the “wise guy” professional sports bettors. Unsophisticated and ignorant sports bettors usually let such sports betting opportunities sail right over their heads for the experts and “sharps” to take advantage of. Don, a Las Vegas “sharp” and professional sports bettor, in fact says that, “I personally love the fact that your average moron off the street that only bets on the Lakers, Cowboys, and Hurricanes stays the hell out of my lower profile (sports betting) action.”

Professional and sharp sports bettors do seem to dominate online sports betting sites and sportsbooks that the public avoids.
