Betting Flat Amounts Versus Adjustable Amounts
By Tom Wilkinson
One of the most interesting aspects of sports betting is
that there are all kinds of different sports bettors
with different philosophies and approaches to sports
betting. The Internet has opened up numerous sports betting
blogs in which sports bettors will come together and
post their thoughts on sports betting for the other members
to read and react too. Nearly all of these sports bettors in the blogosphere bet against the sports odds at online sportsbooks.
One of the biggest differences of opinion between sports bettors is the debate on whether a sports bettor should bet the same amount of money from his bankroll on each game that he bets against the
sports odds or whether he
should bet different amounts on those games, based on an
approach which can help a sports bettor determine
the relative worth and edge of different sports wagers against the odds.
The arguments for sports bettors betting the same
amount of dollars on each game against the odds should be obvious. First, its
quite simple for a sports bettor to keep track of
his bankroll when his sports wagers
are always the same amount. Another benefit to the sports bettor in making all of his sports wagers
the same amount is that he avoids too many losses on games
in which he bet significantly more money against the
sportsbooks than on those
games that he won against the sports odds. This theory holds merit for sports bettors that have a high minimum edge number and that bet a
selected amount of games against the sports odds.
sports bettors that like to bet different dollar
amounts from their bankroll on games against
the odds have the
merits of judging which game is more valuable or that offers
a higher minimum edge number. These sports bettors,
however, run the risk of going 3-3 on their bets and yet
losing a lot of money from their bankrolls because the
losing games were the ones in which the bet the most money
against the odds at
the sportsbook or sports gambling house.
